2020 Leadership Institute Denver

After careful deliberation, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the MLC Summer Leadership Institutes for 2020.

We know educators appreciate these events and understand that many will be disappointed. However, given the current and anticipated levels of uncertainty and risk, we feel this choice best aligns with our commitment to the health and well-being of all participants, speakers, and the MLC team.

All registrants for the Institute have been informed of this decision and will be issued a full refund. Please feel free to share this information with others who would be interested or who inquire about the event.

The Leadership Institute is designed for teacher-leaders, coaches, principals, and curriculum specialists who have implemented Bridges in Mathematics 2nd Edition for at least one full school year.

The annual Leadership Institute offers teacher-leaders, coaches, principals, and curriculum specialists the tools for developing and sustaining a successful implementation of Bridges in Mathematics, Number Corner, and Bridges Intervention. This year participants have the option of choosing from two cities: Denver or Chicago. The program will be the same for both institutes.

We’re pleased to have lined up outstanding keynote speakers for 2020—Kyle Pearce, Jon Orr and Fawn Nguyen.

In addition to attending these keynote presentations, participants have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions and a panel discussion. Panelists include leaders and staff from districts in their second through fourth year of implementation.

Beyond implementing the curriculum, each of the panelists have successfully grappled with developing and carrying out a long-term vision and action plan to sustain and deepen the content knowledge and teaching practices within their districts.

This year’s breakout session topics include:

  • Sustaining an effective Bridges implementation
  • Implementing Bridges Intervention
  • Differentiating in the Bridges classroom
  • Supporting Bridges teachers
  • Understanding the progression of mathematical ideas across the grades in Bridges
  • Integrating technology
  • ...and more
